Dummett さんの本は一般向けに書かれているのではないかと推測される。テーマも一般受けしそうな「哲学とは何か」ということを扱っているようである。ページ数も少なく152ページで、多くの人にとってとっつきやすそうだ。本文152ページの16章立てだから、1章当り9.5ページしかなく、数ページぱらぱらとページをめくるとすぐに1章が終わってしまう。本を開くと前書きも後書きもない。註もないし、参考文献表もなく、索引さえない。少し読んでみたがかなりわかりやすい。多分ですが、Dummett さんの哲学系の本では、今までで最もわかりやすい本になっているのではなかろうかと推測されます。但し、私は Dummett さんの哲学系の本をすべて見てみたことがあるという訳ではありませんので、まったくの推測です。間違っていましたらすみません。

Hintikka さんの論文のうちの1本は既に入手しているのだが、copy が見当たらないので再入手。
Lewis さんたちの論文はまったくの好奇心から入手。
