Peirce の abduction といえば、いわゆる後件肯定の誤謬のような推論を行使することによって、科学的な発見を促す、そのような思考法のようなものを思い浮かべますが、新先生のご研究によると、このような abduction の理解は、不正確なようです。また abduction は Peirce の pragmatism の根幹を成しているそうで、単なる論理学の話には終わらない深みと射程が abduction にはあるようです。また勉強させていただきます。
