This entry is divided into five main sections. The first section contains a brief overview of fictionalist views. The second section describes more carefully what different fictionalist theses there are. In the third and fourth sections, important arguments for and against fictionalism are briefly summarized. The fifth section is devoted to a more general discussion of the philosophical significance of fictionalism.

本日の新着。この項目の冒頭で、現代的なFictionalismの前史が語られているけれど、それを読むとJeremy Bentham, Hans Vaihinger, Nietzsche, Voltaire, Berkeley, Pyrrhonの名前が見える。
そうなんだ、この人達はFictionalism系の人達、あるいはそれが言いすぎなら、Fictionalismの傾向を持った人達なんだ、知らなかった。
まぁ、よくは知らないけれど、Vaihingerは確かにFictionalistである「かのような」人であろうし、Nietzscheもそうかもしれない、何といっても真理は女であろうから。Pyrrhonも懐疑的なお人であったようだし、そうかも。他の方々はどうだか哲学史の知識不足で私にはちょっとピンと来ないです。勉強します。

とは言っても今日はほとんど勉強になっていない。Quineの翻訳は何だかする気が起きず放置状態。ただ少しだけドイツ語文法の復習をしただけ…。
