Dummett さんのお話は、哲学者と科学者、とりわけ哲学者と物理学者の間に広がる溝を乗り越えること、およびいわゆる分析哲学と大陸哲学との間に広がる溝を乗り越えること、この二つの大きな湾に橋を渡し、両者の誤解と無理解を克服するならば、今後も哲学は、往時の繁栄を維持できるだろうという内容のようです。
但し、辛辣な人からすると、哲学の歴史を大して知らない件の著者に今さらありがたがって聴く話なのか、というきついご意見も出てきそうではありますが。
