洋書

これはたぶん珍しいと思われるので購入しました。Wiener Kreis の文献はよく見られますが、Berliner Gruppe の主要な一次文献が一書にまとまっているのはあまり見かけないと思われます。この本の jacket にも、この種の本としては初めての文献であると書かれています。
少し前に出た次の本の、

Preface を見ると、以下のように書かれています。
To date, only a single book has appeared on the Berlin Group, a volume in German edited by Lutz Danneberg, Andreas Kamlah, and Lothar Schäfer: Hans Reichenbach und die Berliner Gruppe (Braunschweig: Vieweg 1994). By contrast with that text, the chapters of the present collection do not concentrate on Reichenbach's scientific philosophy.*1
このように、二次文献にしても、Berliner Gruppe の本はドイツ語にしろ英語にしろ、あまりないようなので、今回購入した本も、ちょっと貴重かもしれません。なお、上記の英語の本に収録されている次の論文の、

References を見ると、以下の通り、Berliner Gruppe / Berlin Group に関連している本と、特にこの group の中心人物の一人である Reichenbach に関する本は、いくつかドイツ語で出ているようで、ドイツ語圏では Reichenbach に関しては、英語圏や日本語の場合とは異なり、若干研究が進展しているようです。

Wiener Kreis / Vienna Circle の研究は、特に英語圏において、今も進展を続けているのに対し、Berliner Gruppe / Berlin Group はまだまだでありますから、今後のために、上で一番最初に上げた本を今回購入しておきました。
ちなみに、今年の夏前頃に次の本が出版されるみたいです。

のことです。この2001年の本は持っておりますが、今度夏前に出る本も、購入しようと思っています。夏前に出るこの本は、引用文中にあるように、abridged ではあるものの revised されているようであり、previously unpublished archival material and more recent literature を利用しているようなので、買っておいたほうがよさそうだ。とはいえ、ちょっと高そうですが。3万円ぐらいしそうです。きついけど、がんばってみます。

二つ目の本は、私たちにとって、次の本といっしょに読むとよさそうに思います。
Jaspers の本はドイツの戦争責任を念頭に置いて書かれていますが、家永先生の本は日本の戦争責任を念頭に置いて書かれています。
なお、Jaspers の本は、戦争責任を追い続けようとする人にも有益と思われますが、戦争責任という負債からの免責を望んでいる人にとっても利用できる本になっているかもしれません。例えば、以下の本で
橋爪先生は、問題の Jaspers の本を利用することによって、戦争責任に対する天皇の免責を図っておられます。このいみで、問題の Jaspers の本は、誰がどういう意図で読むかによって、異なる光を放つ本なのかもしれません。
