先日入手し、拝読しました次の論文の内容を、この日記で後日、記すことができればと考えています。
- Paolo Dau “The Complex Matter of Denoting,” in: Analysis, vol. 45, no. 4, 1985
この論文は the Gray's Elegy Argument に関する論文です。この Argument で鍵となる denoting complex について、大切なことを述べているように私には感じられました。但し、この論文は、深く透徹した哲学的思索を思う存分展開してみせている、というようなものでは決してありません。この点は、著者の Dau さんにも同意していただけるものと思います。時代を画する画期的論文という訳ではありませんが、基本的なことをきちんと確認しようとの意志が感じられる論文です。可能ならば、自分の勉強のためにも、この論文の内容をこの日記でまとめてみたいと考えております。
