ちょうど20年前、London の新聞 The Times (Saturday, May 9, 1992) に、Cambirdge Univ. から Derrida さんに哲学の名誉博士号を授与することに反対する記事が、分析系の哲学者の連名で掲載されていたと思います。連名者のうちのお一人には、例えば Quine さんがいました。哲学においてまともな業績を上げていない、駄洒落ばかり述べている人物に、名誉ある Cambirdge Univ. から哲学の博士号を与えるべきではない、という趣旨の記事でした*1。
あれから20年、潮の流れがはっきりと変わって来たのでしょうか? Donau と Rhein はここにおいて合流するのでしょうか? 私にはわかりませんけれど…。
