以上の‘Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, vol. 57, Section A, No. 6, 1955’は‘Celebration of the Centenary of The Laws of Thought by George Boole’特集で、このほかにもいくつか報告が掲載されている。上4つの“Letter”はRoyal Irish Academy宛のもの。Lukasiewiczの手紙の一部を記す。

I began to study Boole's works more than fifty years ago. Two beautiful copies of the first editions of his works, ‘The Mathematical Analysis of Logic’ and ‘The Laws of Thought’, which I kept in my library, were destroyed by German bombs during the siege of Warsaw in September 1939. No bombs, however, can destroy ideas, and I am sure that Boole's ideas will live for ever.

いい言葉ですね。ちなみにこのLukasiewiczの手紙はDublinのFitzwilliam Squareの57番地から出されています。ここはどうもUniversity College DublinでもTrinity College Dublinでもないようなので大学の研究室から手紙を書いて出しているのではなく、自宅から出しているようである。手紙には体調が悪くてBooleの記念祭には行けないと書いているから、そのことからも自宅より投函していることが推測できる。一度そこに行ってみたいな。

3,4本目は2004年9月15,16日に東大駒場キャンパスで発表された原稿のよう。石黒さんの論文はその際に参照されたもののよう。いずれも東京大学21世紀COEプログラム「共生のための国際哲学交流センター」HPからDL可。
