先日既に購入していた雑誌/書籍の

では、Quine の特集とともに、Wittgenstein の数学の哲学が特集されているのですが、この Wittgenstein の特集の導入として、

という文が掲載されており、その中では Wittgenstein の数学観に関する近年の研究の、著しい進展を促した 'excellent' な研究書として、

が挙げられています*1。このうちの最初と最後の本が、今回購入した本というわけです。
また、先日入手した下記の Floyd 先生の書評で、Mühlhölzer 先生のご高著は非常に高く評価されています。Wittgenstein の数学観を語ろうとする者は、誰でも Mühlhölzer 本を手にしていなければ、語るべきではない、というようなことを Floyd 先生は述べておられます*2。
